Sonya joined us in 2023 as a volunteer advisor bringing her huge experience to bear on all aspects of the Charity's operations.
Sonya has been Chief Executive of Action for M.E. for nearly 12 years. Her charity provides Information & Support alongside Holistic Healthcare Services to meet the needs of children and adults with M.E. while working to secure change for the future through funding and partnering in research alongside awareness-raising activities with the public, politicians and decision-makers.
Sonya is also the Chair of the Management Group for DecodeME, the world’s largest ME/CFS study, being delivered in partnership with University of Edinburgh and a steering group of people with lived experience of ME/CFS. With a background in children and families social work and third sector leadership, Sonya also Co-Chairs the World ME Alliance and has Non-Executive Director role with social housing and house-building company, Curo.

Sonya generously gives much of her spare time to advising and guiding the Mountain Way and leading much of its growth development
